The kidneys are organs in the body which perform a lot of functions as a pair. These organs are found in invertebrates and vertebrates. These form a major part of the urinary system in the human body. They perform the following functions:
Regulation of electrolytes
Maintenance of the acid base balance
Regulation of the blood pressure.
